The last time I mentioned SpaceX, 30/03/17, it was because they had just managed to launch AND recover a first stage section of their Falcon 9 launch vehicle for a SECOND time! Now, three and a half years later, they are celebrating their 100th successful launch, including all their rocket types. |
SpaceX have continued to rack up an impressive array of statistics: -
The previous 99th flight was: -
The second time a booster was flown six times.
The first time both fairing halves were flown a third time; both fairing halves landed on their respective ships but one fairing broke the net on recovery ship Ms Tree.
The thirteenth operational launch of Starlink satellites; total so far 895 satellites, 844 still currently in orbit.
(Update: - As of August 2023, there are now over 5,000!)
The thirteenth time in a row that a booster has returned and landed successfully. The rocket's first-stage boosters have now been successfully landed in 63 of 73 landing attempts (86.3%), with 39 out of 43 (90.7%) for the latest version, Block 5.

In addition to launching satellites, SpaceX have also now become:
- The first private company to send humans into orbit (Crew Dragon Demo-2 on 30 May 2020).
- The first private company to send humans to the International Space Station, with the Crew Dragon Demo-2 on 31 May 2020.
On top of these technical achievements comes news that investors are also impressed by the economics of SpaceX.
