at the 59th GRAMMY Awards on Feb. 12, 2017 |
I was very pleased to find out that a young musician I have mentioned before has gone on to greater recognition by way of two awards from the United States' organisation The Recording Academy.
Their website says "A Grammy is awarded by The Recording Academy's voting membership to honor excellence in the recording arts and sciences. It is truly a peer honor, awarded by and to artists and technical professionals for artistic or technical achievement, not sales or chart positions." This year she has won in two categories: - Category 45, Best American Roots Performance, for "House Of Mercy", a track from her latest album Undercurrent. Label: Sugar Hill Records. Category 51, Best Folk Album, for the same album. Also, her album was nominated for Category 69. Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, Shani Gandhi & Gary Paczosa, engineers; Paul Blakemore, mastering engineer. Sarah has previously been nominated for: - 2009 "Mansinneedof" Best Country Instrumental Performance 2014 Build Me Up from Bones Best Folk Album 2014 "Build Me Up from Bones" Best American Roots Song |
